Levy Park
This large park features a dedicated Children’s Park with a playground perfect for toddlers which is open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The colorful structures, gentle slides, and climbing features are perfect for early exploration. Dads can grab a coffee and a pastry from a nearby vendor while keeping an eye on the little ones.

Mary Jo Peckham Park
This Katy gem caters to the under-5 crowd with a separate, fenced-in playground. It boasts a variety of climbing structures, swings, and a soft play area ideal for wobbly walkers. Dads can relax on nearby benches or enjoy a game of catch in the open space.

Exploration Park

Buddy Carruth Playground for All Children
This inclusive playground in Herman Park is a must-visit. With ramps, accessible swings, and a variety of play structures, it caters to all abilities. The park also features an interactive water water area to help beat the Texas heat and Dads will appreciate the large, shaded pavilions and ample seating for breaks.

Donovan Park
This one-of-a-kind playground in the Heights neighborhood is a dream come true for little train enthusiasts. Built entirely of wood, it features a network of climbing structures, rope bridges, and balance beams that will keep your child entertained for hours. The highlight? Adorable wooden train cars perfect for pretend play – your little one can be the conductor or simply enjoy a whimsical train ride.

For the Dads Who Want to Get in on the Action (All Ages)
Barbara Fish Daniel Nature Play Area
The multi-level playground in Buffalo Bayou Park boasts a whopping 30-foot slide, perfect for catching some air. While the kids explore the fun water features and climbing structures, parents can relax and enjoy breathtaking views of downtown Houston. There’s even a two-story treehouse, a tunnel for adventurous explorers, and a sandpit for little builders. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby and kids nine and older can take a tour of the fascinating Buffalo Bayou Cistern, or parents and older children can check out the nearby Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark.

Rob Fleming Park
Out in Spring, Rob Fleming Park is one of the largest parks in The Woodlands and offers playgrounds for both younger and older kids. Park is also home to the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center which has a lazy river, a two-story flume slide for tubing, and an interactive play structure with a 150-gallon dump bucket, making it a fun-filled adventure for the whole family.

John P. McGovern Playground
Discovery Green’s John P. McGovern Playground got a major upgrade in 2021, offering twice the space for kids to roam and play. The playground is cleverly divided into two sections: The smaller section features a charming play hill and 15 pieces of equipment perfectly sized for toddlers and preschoolers. The larger area boasts a challenging ropes course, swings, and slides to keep bigger kids entertained. After all the play time, kids can cool off with the refreshing splash pads and water features, or catch one of Discovery Green’s many weekly programs and events designed for the whole family. With plenty of new seating and 31 shade trees planted, parents can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings while the kids have a blast.
