The Houston Furniture Bank is dedicated to “Making Empty Houses Homes” by providing furniture to families in need. For 29 years, they have partnered with over 82 social service agencies to assist those affected by poverty, homelessness, domestic violence and other challenges. The organization has served over 30,000 families. Their initiatives, such as “No Kids on the Floor,” have ensured that over 1,000 children receive beds, while also creating employment opportunities for over 50 families.

Houston Habitat for Humanity

The Houston Habitat for Humanity was founded by Carl Umland in 1987. For 35 years, Houston Habitat for Humanity has made a significant impact on the community by building affordable homes for families in need. Since its founding, the organization has empowered countless individuals through homeownership, offering a path to stability and self-sufficiency. Pick-up requests can be made online and all items must be staged outside, in the garage, on the first floor or have access to an elevator. Office furniture will be picked up on a case-by-case basis.

Arms of Hope is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian organization dedicated to supporting children and single-mother families in need. With three other Texas locations, the organization boasts over 175 years of combined experience in providing comprehensive residential care for children.
