Houston Scream Fest bills itself as the largest Halloween festival in Texas, combining haunted houses with live entertainment, food, and midway attractions.
Located just south of downtown, the event draws thrill-seekers every fall for a mix of scares, music, and carnival-style fun. If you’re planning to go this year, here are three things to know from the organizers:
It’s more than just haunted houses — it’s a full festival experience
The festival’s site notes that beyond haunted houses, guests will find a carnival-style midway, a food court with adult beverages, live concerts, and other attractions.
Multiple haunted houses with different themes and scare levels are included, giving visitors a variety of experiences in one night.
Your ticket gives you “unlimited” access plus perks
According to the ticket information page, admission includes unlimited entries into all the haunted houses for the evening, as well as free drinks (with valid ID for adult beverages), midway games, and concerts. Organizers emphasize that once you’re in, you can experience as much as you want.
Know the timing and location before going
Houston Scream Fest takes place at 1500 Elton Street in Houston. The event schedule notes that on Fridays and Saturdays, gates and ticket booths close at 11 p.m., while weekday hours may be shorter — so arriving early is recommended.
