Fleet Week is sailing into Houston for the very first time, and according to the official press release announcing the event, this year’s celebration will hold a variety of special events.
Here’s what you need to know.
1. It’s the first Fleet Week in Houston — and in Texas
The press release notes that Fleet Week Houston will run Nov. 5–12, 2025. It marks the first time the U.S. Navy has brought this long-standing tradition to the city and to Texas. The week will feature three naval vessels and more than 1,000 sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen.
2. A new logo and website are ready for the community
According to the release, organizers unveiled a new Fleet Week Houston logo and launched fleetweekhouston.com. The site is described as a hub for exploring the schedule, finding sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities, and signing up to volunteer.
3. A full lineup of family-friendly events
The press release highlights activities including ship tours, family programs, educational outreach, community service projects, a Houston Texans fan zone, the East End block party, and the city’s Veterans Day Parade. Fleet Week Houston will also include celebrations for the Navy’s 250th anniversary and the U.S. Marine Corps’ 250th birthday on Nov. 10.
4. Don’t miss the Fleet Week EXPO at Post Houston
On Nov. 8–9, the Fleet Week EXPO will take place at Post Houston, the release states. Visitors can expect interactive displays, demonstrations, entertainment, local food and business showcases, plus expert talks. Shuttles will depart from Post Houston for tours of the naval ships docked at the Port of Houston.
5. City leaders say Houston is ready to shine
“This will be the first time that Fleet Week is held in the city of Houston, and as mayor, I am proud to partner with the U.S. Navy and other representatives to host a fantastic week of events,” said Mayor John Whitmire.
Rear Adm. John W. Hewitt, Commander, Navy Region Southeast, added in the release that Fleet Week is an opportunity for Houstonians to meet sailors and Marines, hear their stories, and strengthen ties between the military and the community.
